Crew-12 is scheduled to undock from the International Space Station no earlier than 1:05 a.m. EDT on Wednesday, Oct. 7, under operational plans announced by NASA and SpaceX. The mission's capsule is slated to splash down off the California coast at approximately 11:25 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 8.
The four Crew-12 mission members returning to Earth are NASA astronauts Jessica Meir and Jack Hathaway, European Space Agency astronaut Sophie Adenot, and Roscosmos cosmonaut Andrey Fedyaev.
Ahead of their departure, Crew-12 personnel will officially transfer mission responsibilities on Sunday, Oct. 4. During an event starting at 10:20 a.m. EDT, Meir will yield station leadership to Roscosmos cosmonaut Pyotr Dubrov.
Departure of the SpaceX Dragon depends on spacecraft readiness, recovery team preparedness, sea conditions, weather, and other operating factors. The exact splashdown time remains subject to minor adjustments based on the chosen recovery site off the California coast. Mission officials plan to conduct their next weather review roughly 48 hours before undocking.
